Take for example the exemption from capital gains tax (CGT) for the first R1 million of capital gain you make on your primary residence (the one you live in). At face value it sounds very simple: If you sell your house the capital gain will be calculated according to tax legislation and to the extent that that gain exceeds R1 million it will be subject to CGT. But what happens if you work from home as the sole proprietor of a business and you have been claiming some of your expenses electricity water interest on your home loan rates and so on as expenses relating to your business?Say for example you were using 30 percent of your home for business purposes and were claiming 30 percent of your expenses as a tax deduction against your income. What happens when you sell your home? The R1 million exemption from CGT does not apply to any gain you make on that portion of your home that was used for business purposes. So 30 percent of the gain you make on your house when you sell it will be subject to CGT. How can you ensure that all of the gain you make on your home is included for the R1 million primary residence exemption? When must you stop claiming the business expenses as a tax deduction? ne year before you sell your house? Two years? More? The law relating to the primary residence CGT exemption talks about how the residence is “used” and not what tax claims you have made because you were working from home. f course if you stop claiming the income tax deductions the South African Revenue Service (SARS) might not be aware of the fact that the house was used for something other than a primary residence.

Vice Chairman Adisak Rohitasune said the confidence in July usually declined to the lowest level every year because of rainy season and less consumption in domestic market. "The market is currently indecisive but having a fixed government will clear up the confusion and this will depend on how the government sets its growth plans and business policies. It will definitely increase people's confidence. "ther Asean markets have reported steady growth. Vietnam has shown 25-per-cent growth in the motorcycle market and Indonesia 30 per cent. Although Thailand's growth would not have been as high as its neighbours it also would not have seen a 16-per-cent drop were it not for the political situation.

Does Apple Have A Moral bligation To Serve The Enterprise Market?
InformationWeek – Aug 23, 2007
He notes that Apple occasionally makes overtures to big business but not much and only when the big-business product also serve another market where Apple is strong for example creative professionals. Siracusa notes a fundamental difference between the enterprise market and the home and small-business markets: In the enterprise market you’re selling to the organization; whereas in the home and small-business markets you’re selling to the end-user. “The people you have to please in the enterprise market are the ones purchasing and supporting the products not the poor schmucks who actually have to use them” Siracusa says. IT managers are looking for cell phones that support the company’s VPN Exchange remote deletion of data on lost devices multi-vendor support ability to disable the camera if there is a camera and so forth. Usability is low-down on the list. Siracusa sees Apple’s disdain for the corporate market where the end-user experience takes a back seat as noble… Anything less is an abdication of potential or a failure of ambition and settling for less denies many people the chance to discover tools or technologies that can improve their lives. He describes Siracusa’s conclusion with a short Anglo-Saxon word for the chief end-product of horses and says Siracusa is being “elitist and lazy. Here’s the truth: You can meet all the (reasonable) requirements of an Enterprise while still creating a product that delights and inspires the people who make up that organization. In fact you have to do so.
