Tightrope: Working from home? Make time for the kids
USA Today – Sep 25, 2007
And as with every other aspect of life you have to establish rules and boundaries for yourself as well as others. Establish a routine working schedule that includes the days and hours of operation what tasks you will perform and the hours of the day that you will schedule for conference calls and client meetings. It is not uncommon for entrepreneurs to think it is K to work around the clock when they have a home-based business. Sometimes our children and spouses can become rambunctious when we spend too much time working and not enough time giving them attention. In many cases parents who have home-based businesses schedule work around their families. You don’t mention the ages of your children or how many you have. That information could make a difference in how you structure your business life.

Asking for a Flexible Work Schedule
Washington Post – Sep 25, 2007
Part of determining the right fit isn’t just about hard skills — the knowledge skills and experience. It’s also about the soft skills — the ability to convince someone that you’d be a good fit within their culture. That you share the same work style and passion for the business. That type of stuff is rarely conveyed in a resume. It’s the story you tell about yourself your background your career goals and more. And it can be a powerful way to convince someone to hire you. That story should also go both ways: you want the employer to offer you a compelling story too — convincing you that they offer what you want… The most fulfilling situation is one in which everyone is satisfied — your employer is happy and so are you. The work gets done and everyone has some peace of mind! For some people that means compressed work weeks. For others it’s working from home. For some it’s working only part-time. It all depends on the other needs and issues you’re juggling. But rarely does one solution work perfectly for all. _______________________Reston Va.

Kannikar's comments are similar to those of Kasikornbank CE Banthoon Lamsam who said the Kingdom's economy would recover once the new elected government was set up. The resulting positive environment will boost both consumption and investment including investment to expand the banking industry he said. The Kasikornbank Group is considering possible business expansion next year but this will also be based on risk management Banthoon said. Meanwhile Moody's Investors Service also considers that the outlook for Thailand's banking system remains stable. It has made no new downgrades of the 12 banks on which it assesses ratings despite the slowdown in the Kingdom's economic growth and the impact of the coup on the agency's expected pace of upgrades. "Any protracted and significant slowdown in the economy could weaken the ability of Thailand's banks' to further improve profitability and reduce the level of non-performing assets" said Moody analyst Karolyn Seet. "These are both key factors in strengthening their recovering capital bases.
