PTT Exploration and Production also insisted yesterday that its operations in Burma continued as usual. The Yadana Project is producing about 650 million cubic feet of gas per day while the Yetagun Project is producing about 430 million. Exploration work at M9 Block is also progressing normally. Meanwhile Thailand has warned its nationals to avoid travel to Burma because of the country's growing internal problems. Deputy Tourism and Sports Minister Nat Indarapana said yesterday that business and pleasure trips should be postponed until there was an improvement in the situation in Burma. The Tourism Authority of Thailand and tourist assistance centres will provide travellers with updated information about the situation. "I advise all travellers who plan to visit Burma to talk to the tourism authority prior to making decisions" Nat said. Airlines and hotels in Rangoon and other major cities said it was business as usual but some visitors from Thailand and Europe have cancelled trips. Security agencies in Thailand are watching the situation closely and are ready to evacuate nationals in Burma if required.

We will base the proposal on the pattern used in Singapore” he said. Public transport operators have asked for the permission to raise fares in light of higher oil prices. However their proposal has been delayed as the authorities fear that the increase would affect travellers. “Bus operators right now operate as usual… They should adjust themselves as well in this situation. They should turn to other alternative fuels like gasohol while travellers should also buy monthly tickets to save their money” Silapachai said. Transport Minister Thira Haocharoen noted that the ministry has been concerned with the higher oil prices but to solve the problem it needs to be fair to both business operators and the public.

Devote hours to work that would otherwise be spent commuting? Then summarize all these reasons making a business case in your favor. Second anticipate possible objections and figure out solutions. Will you miss staff meetings? Will co-workers have to cover more office tasks in your absence? Is there a risk that an urgent customer need will arise when you’re not around? Explain how you’ll avert or solve those problems. Third set up a way you and your supervisor can evaluate your work-at-home setup; if you lack measurable objectives for your work now is a good time to develop them.
