"I promised my wife I would help her clean up the room because she said she could not do it alone" he said. Karun decided to retire from the ministry's top job one year earlier than his obligatory retirement date. According to civil service regulations permanent secretaries can serve for no more than six years. After that they must be reshuffled into the top job at another ministry or go to the ffice of the Prime Minister.
