Published on January 16 2008 TITV is in the process of converting from a commercial channel into Thailand's first public TV channel to be known as Thai Public Broadcasting Service (TPBS). A public TV channel is prohibited from showing advertisements. Citibank said in a report that this had effectively ended speculation that TITV – once owned by former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's family business interests – would be able to revert to being a commercial station under the People Power Party-led government. Citibank said that consequently TITV's ad revenue which accounted for 15. 3 billion of all TV advertising income would now be switched to other channels. "Assuming 70 per cent of ad spending stays with TV stations dividing that equally between the four existing commercial channels would result in MCOT and BEC gaining around Bt550m and Bt1 billion or a 16-per-cent and 11-per-cent increase respectively in potential TV ad revenue" Citibank said.

In Mathu’s case tribe is so ubiquitous he hardly notices it. For Chwanya who came home from work early last Thursday after arguing with a colleague about the elections it has become the raging undercurrent of a frustrated life. "Kikuyus and Luos do not read from the same page" he said. when he got off a bus run by a Kikuyu company and made his way through the crowded dirt paths of Kangeme… Mathu got into the more lucrative electronics business when a Kikuyu friend also from his home town offered him a deal to take over his small shop in the market. He now gets all his televisions radios DVD players and other electronic items from his hometown buddy the sort of arrangement that is common in Kangeme where Kikuyus own most of the shops and houses. Mathu attributes that fact less to social networking than to hard work and business savvy. "A lot of people these tribes they do not know how to do business" Mathu said. "They rely on being employed somewhere.

Long education lead times high tuition fees high-paying specialization areas and the lure to large cities and other countries are contributing to a growing problem according to Ontario Bar Association president Greg Goulin. “There are issues when lawyers want (to retire) particularly in the rural areas. I know several lawyers who have phenomenal practises but they can’t get a junior to take them over or even article with them” Mr… I knew some who had $50000. Money was a big deal and there are other pressures as well” she said. After working at a large firm on Bay Street she moved to a smaller firm out in the suburbs of Toronto for a better work-life balance.
